Riana Islam

Riana Islam is currently working at BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) as a trainee research associate. She is keen to learn continuously and to share her own knowledge and experience with others in the research arena. Riana Islam has completed her graduation from Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. She has also completed her post-graduation from the same department on social development. Riana has always been involved with social works and volunteer programs throughout her University life. She started her volunteer work as a founding team member and teacher of ‘Amar School: a school for unprivileged children of Dhaka city’. This hands-on experience not only helped a school to formulate a more friendly curriculum to educate children in a happy environment but also this experience initiated her interest for social work. She has worked with GIPSEDA ( Group for Innovative Public service Delivery in Bangladesh) from 2020 to 2021 as a data collector and co-ordinator. She joined ‘Subarta Trust’ as a research team member in 2022. Here she gathered very extensive working experience with senior citizens, Dimentia, Alzheimer's, and need for proper care giving to elderly population.
