About
Md. Nurun Nabi Millat Co-founder & Country Director Md. Nurun Nabi Millat works as the manager of Alzheimer Society of Bangladesh since November 2022. Prior to that, he worked as an admin officer at Eco Aid Foundation. Mr Millat graduated from the University of Dhaka. He received his Post Graduate Training from the Genocide-Torture and Liberation War Affairs Research Centre of Bangladesh on the thesis titled Mojumdarapara Gonohotya. From 2018 to 2019, he was the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Study Forum (BDSF), Dhaka University Chapter. From his sense of social responsibility regarding elderly people’s rights and care he ushered his journey with Subarta Trust as a volunteer; soon it turned from an interest to a profession. There he vigorously engaged with the elderly and challenged people as well as people living with dementia from 2018 to 2020 there. During Covid-19, when the care industry was facing a devastating challenge, he was handed over the responsibility of In-charge at Subarta’s Residential Care Home, Swapnolok Peace Valley -1. In 2022, he developed a team of research enthusiasts and became the coordinator of both the volunteer and research team, Subarta Trust. He conducted multiple case studies, developed a care plan, assessed papers for caregivers, and developed caregiver’s training module for Subarta Care Centre initially. Later on, in 2023 when the National Skill Development Authority by the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh developed the Competency standard for dementia care, he was a member of that committee.
